It may still feel like summer, but fall learning is where it’s at

Even though I’ve always considered professional development and learning to be year-round activities, there is something to be said for the back-to-school, “time-to-learn-something-new” vibe of fall.

In keeping with that, I wanted to share a couple of upcoming professional development opportunities that I’m fortunate enough to be a part of:

Lunch & Learn Expert Panel Event

Coming up on October 13th, I’m delighted to be moderating a Lunch & Learn event on How Employee Engagement can Drive Organizational Change, hosted by uOttawa’s Institute for Strategic Communications & Change.

Designed as an interactive panel discussion, the session will provide a unique, inside look at how effective employee communications can enable successful transformation. Participants will get access to the expert insights and lessons from the trenches of three seasoned panelists:

• Renée Légaré, Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer – The Ottawa Hospital
• Janemary Banigan, Manager of Internal Communications – Export Development Canada
• Heather Rourke, Director of Employee Communications – Bank of Canada

The session runs from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and is being held at the exceptional facilities of uOttawa’s Centre for Continuing Education, 55 Laurier Ave., East, Room 12110. Cost for the event is $25 and includes lunch and networking. You can click here to register for the event – it’s not to be missed!

Fall Cohort of the uOttawa Institute for Strategic Communications & Change

We are currently ramping up for delivery of the third cohort of our University of Ottawa partnership initiative the Institute for Strategic Communications & Change.

Starting November 15th, our certificate-granting leadership development program is back to explore the intersection of strategic communications & change management, helping participants to develop the high-value skills and know-how to be an indispensable, critical contributor in their organization.

Check out the Institute’s website to learn more about the program and to register.
