3-2-1: A new year’s post

SHARE

2024 has started with a bang! There’s lots happening that I wanted to share:

3 New Resources

I. If you lead a communications team or have such a role on your horizon, check out this new (free) Communications Director’s Handbook. It’s a one-of-a-kind field guide for the effective and efficient functional management of communications teams. It’s about empowering, enabling and encouraging leaders of communications functions.

II. If you have a nagging feeling that your communications team isn’t quite set up to succeed, get an instant diagnostic (and prescription) using our new Communications Team Assessment Quiz

III. If you’d like to join an online community to network and exchange ideas with peers globally, check out this new online community that I co-chair for heads of communications, in partnership with IABC.

2 Events

I. Join me for a free webinar on AI for Heads of Communications: What You Need to Know on February 15th. The event features Alex Sevigny, professor of communications management at McMaster University. It’s offered through IABC’s heads of communications special interest group.

II. I will be offering the next edition of the Leadership Development Program for Communicators in May. This unique cohort program is offered through the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute. It’s a mix of an immersive three day session, peer learning, individual coaching and knowledge transfer.

1 Question

If you had a magic wand and could change one thing to increase the impact of your work, what would it be?

Consider taking one step in that direction this week.

P.S. Hat tip to James Clear for the inspiration behind the 3-2-1 post.

P.P.S. Looking for an out of the box professional development opportunity for 2024? Join me at the upcoming European Association of Communications Directors Summit coming to Brussels this May.
